As well as the fascinating day trips, the area
offers plentiful opportunities for outdoor sports, including one of the
best diving schools in Turkey.
SCUBA diving
Some of the best diving spots can be found near
Kas. The crystal clear waters surrounding Kas mean excellent visibility
of up to 10 metres. Divers swim with a variety of fish, octopus, sea
turtles, dolphins, as well as sunken vessels and ancient ruins.
Canoeing
Canoe trips are organised down the peaceful Esencayi
River, 45 kilometres from Kas, Xanthos River and Patara National Park.
There are also canoe tours along the shore. Beautiful bays, unspoilt
spots and ancient sites invite exploration and no experience is necessary.
Sea Kayaking
Spend a day kayaking through the Kekova island
region and visit the ancient castle at Kale on
your journey.
Paragliding
The cliffs in Kas are amongst the best in Turkey
for paragliding. Fully qualified instructors
will take you in tandem, over the spectacular
coastal scenery and rugged Taurus Mountains,
or you can go solo if you are experienced.
Horse
riding
Horse Riding excursion are available
through Olympica from the 'Big
Pebble' Beach to Kaya
Dibi Beach in Liman Agzi. You return
to Kas harbour by boat. Jeans,
sports shoes and swimming gear
are needed.
Fishing
Kas boasts clear unpolluted waters
that are ideal for fishing.

local waters include sea bream lobster,
bonito, mullet, and goby.
Trekking
Kas and surrounds are
ideal for trekking
enthusiasts. Trails take
in both history
and nature. Paths are
lined with sage, oregano, pine
trees and Mediterranean
scrub bushes.

in Kas. Voyages
travel
north west along the
Aegean, taking in the Blue
Cave,
St Nicholas Island and
Oludeniz or east
towards Antalya stopping
at Kekova, Simena
and Olympos.

walk or jog around the
five-kilometre circuit
of the Kas peninsula
