About Kas, Eating

Kas is a gourmand's delight and what's more the food is healthy and fresh. When it comes to restaurants, you're spoilt for choice but a few favourites include:

  • Bahce offers arguably the best mezze in town and enjoys a delightful garden setting, just across from the Sarcophagus on Uzun Carci Cadesi. For a two-course meal for two, including a bottle of local Kavak wine, expect to pay around 30 Euros.
  • Karavan offers a range of distinctive dishes, such as the fresh, blue swimmer-crab salad, all artistically presented. A great choice for a memorable, but reasonably priced meal at 25-30 Euros for two.
  • Sempati is a traditional authentic restaurant that offers home-cooked specialities such as the aubergine fritters and delicious hummous prepared by the owner-chef. Expect to pay about 40 Euros for two including wine.
  • Chez Evy is the place to head if you feel like a break from Turkish food and want to spend a little more. With friendly service and hearty French fare, such as fillet steak with char-grilled vegetables, a three-course meal for two, including wine, will set you back about 80 Euros. The portions are generous so be sure to come hungry!
  • Pide and Pizza House. A great place for a delicious, reasonably priced lunch in a buzzing atmosphere. Pide and beer for two is about 15 Euros
